The New Look!

Carolina Tech Founders

The name catches up to the mission.

The heart of this doesn't change. The room, the people, the mission — all of that stays. There's just going to be a lot more of it.

If you were in the room on July 22, you heard it first. If you weren't — here's everything.

What this means for you

More connections. More programming. More access.

The goal is simple: build the kind of founder community people actually want to be part of.

More ways to connect

Beyond the every-other-month meeting — new events, pop-up socials, and touch points built around how founders actually network.

A founder pre-accelerator & mentoring

A dedicated pathway from idea to MVP, built for earlier-stage founders who are ready to move but need the right support around them.

Stronger programming

Structured mentoring, founder education, and curated content that moves the needle at every stage of the journey.

Better access to resources

Funding relationships, regional partners, and institutional connections — more opportunity, closer to home.

Why The Change

People are going to ask. The answer is simple: so we can grow.

  • A bigger name.

  • A bigger network.

  • More opportunities for founders.

The heart of this doesn't change.
The room, the people, the mission — all of that stays.

There's just going to be a lot more of it.

  • Same core community & mission

The people, the relationships, and the founder-first culture that made this work — all of that is intact.

  • A name that reflects our reach

A regional identity that opens doors to new partnerships, new institutions, and new founders who belong in this room.

  • An evolution, not a reset

Built on everything we've already done — this is the next chapter, not a new story.

Working Together

The partnerships expanding what's possible

Several organizations are aligning around the same objective: helping technology founders build stronger companies here.

SCRA

Innovation Hub support and statewide technology resources.

Winthrop University

Facilities, faculty, students, and institutional engagement.

SC SBDC

Business advising, founder support, and program execution.

Innovate Charlotte

Regional experience, connections, and future founder programming.

The value isn't any one organization — it's what becomes possible when the network works together.

What the SCRA partnership brings

Being the Hub isn't just a designation. It comes with real backing, support, and programming.

A formal partnership

An official agreement with SCRA, administered through the Winthrop University Foundation — giving us institutional standing and accountability.

The Support

Funding

Real dollars flowing in to fuel new programming, bring in expert resources, and build out what founders here actually need.

Credibility & connections

Access to SCRA's statewide network — relationships with investors, partners, and institutions that reach well beyond York County.

The Support

Built right here, by founders, for founders

Built right here

Founded in York County by founders, for founders — a room where people showed up for each other and made something real happen.

A consistent place to connect

Meeting after meeting, the community kept showing up — to learn, to share, and to grow alongside one another.

Growth opened a door

That steady momentum created an opportunity none of us saw coming a year ago — and it's what made this next chapter possible.

  • Yes & No.
York County remains home base, but events, programs will be expanding across the region to give everyone more opportunities to attend many more events.

The regional name reflects a wider network of partners and founders, not a move away from where this started.
